What We Do

| Current Plan Summary | Past Club Achievements and Projects | National/International Co-Op Projects |

Club President Bob Colvin has set some solid goals for his year at the helm. Our fearless taskmaster plans to let no moss grow under our Club. Here’s the highlights for his 2006/2007 tenure:

Revisiting our “Greatest Hits”

The Tahoe Douglas Rotary Club is proud of its long tradition of sweat equity projects within our community. This year, President Bob has elected for the Club to revisit and revitalize some of these projects that are in need. This Fall, under the direction of Rotarian (and multi hull sailor) Dave Anderson, we will tackle renovations on the Zephyr Cove Park BBQ & Picnic area adjacent to the Library and the nearby Senior Par Course. All able bodied members are invited to join in on this worthwhile endeavor.

National/International Co-Op Projects

Our Mulege Project started when South Lake Tahoe Rotary Club President, John Cefalu, sent an email through Rotary International seeking an International Club project. Mulege, Mexico responded and the project started in 1999 as a joint project between an Auburn, CA Rotary, South Lake Tahoe Rotary Club and Tahoe Douglas Rotary. Auburn was involved for the first two years.

Over the years, we have donated many sets of eye glasses, as well as dental and hospital supplies. We have brought down old police light bars for the police department, fire hoses, radios, jackets and other emergency supplies when our local departments upgraded their equipment. We do hands on projects such as painting the clinic, installing playground equipment and other local projects.

We are currently working on a large District and Internatioinal grant between the two Tahoe Rotary clubs and the Mulege club that will total $19,200 and allow Mulege to purchase two tanker trucks, 8 radios, 3 chain saws, oxygen equipment ambulance, 2 water pumps, miscellaneous hoses and fittings.
